Good logbook Along with my digital entrees I also keep a records in this book. It has multiple options to record. I like to use colored pens to indicate frequent locations in the list at the back of the book. The first section has larger areas to write detailed information.Three ways to track your life list! I didn't quite realize this when I bought this book, but there are 3 sections for tracking your bird sightings:1. A detailed journal entry for each bird2. A simple checklist for each bird3. A blank list to enter your own birds as you goIt's simple, thorough, and well-organized!Great book for recording birds you've seen Love my Sibley Life List book. There are 3 sections.....first a section with species and a place to write when and where you saw it with a space for notes and observations . Next is the checklist section where you just check off what species you've seen. There are 6 columns for check marks which had me wondering why at first. Then I thought of some reasons why you might want multiple columns. If you're doing a big year, you could use one column for that. Even if you're not doing a big year, you could separate out your sightings by year. For now, I'm just using one column. The last section is a numbered blank list where you write in the species you've seen. If you're worried about repeating a species, look back to your checklist to see if you've recorded it. This has prevented me from writing duplicates more than once.The index is arranged a little differently than field guides. Instead of looking up American Crow under C for crow, it's under A for American Crow. All birds are listed by their proper names, so you will need to know this while using the index. My only complaint is that the print in the index is a light gray and a little hard for me to read.

A great multi purpose educational book I have had this book for the last 6 years. I have had to replace the book once because it is used so incredibly once. I started reading this with my oldest when she hadn't said any words by the time she was a year old. Once we got her autism diagnosis, this is actually one of the 5 books they told us to buy so we can read with her and start working with speech development and recognition and identification of other items. This is great for both receptive and expressive speech development, especially if you read it often. I have 3 girls who all had some speech development issues and this was the first thing that got them saying some words!I don't typically replace kids books because kids interests change so frequently and/or once the book is needing to be replaced, it usually means that the book has been very well used and read for a long time. This book is one of the three exceptions I have. My youngest is 16 months and has a hearing impairment and this book has even assisted in me helping her learn sign language because I could point to a picture and then sign the name. This book can be for any kid even if they don't have a speech delay because it never hurts to learn new words or improve on the words you already know. If the kid knows the words already you can still work with colors, shapes, collecting information ex) how many animals in the book?, letter identification, the list goes on.He loves board books and he really seems to enjoy those books in particular so when I saw the ... My 15 m.o. son has had the smaller board book version of First 100 Words, First 100 Animals, and First Numbers & Shapes for months now. He loves board books and he really seems to enjoy those books in particular so when I saw the Lift-the-Flap version I knew I had to buy it. Whenever I ask him to bring me a book to read to him, he chooses these books pretty frequently. He also spends a fair amount of time going through them while pointing at each picture and speaking his toddler language to himself. The lift flaps on this book adds another aspect to keep his interest in the book a little longer. These books have held up fairly well to the abuse my toddler has put them through, the pages have been chewed on, pulled on, bent, books have been thrown, yet none are falling apart. I was a little worried about him tearing the flaps (as he's done with other books) but so far they seem to be holding up. I will continue to purchase these.The 7,920+ eviews are not for the Simple First Words Let’s Talk book. Warning- The 7,900+ reviews are not for the “Simple Words Let’s Talk” book which has a total of ten words. I think Amazon needs to make sure reviews are for the actual book being advertised and not for several of Priddy’s books combined. Most of the reviews shown here are for a combination of First 100 Words, First Animals, and First 100 Words with lift flaps not the Simple First Words Let’s Talk book advertised here.There are ten words in this board book (one per page) with a corresponding button that says the word when pushed.

Why buy this book? I am a private math tutor and author of A Guide to the Math SAT . The 8 official practice tests in this book are indispensable (therefore five stars) but they are the same as the ones posted on the College Board and Khan Academy web sites, so it is reasonable to ask, “Why buy this book?”The main reason is that students should take practice tests using pencil and paper because that is how the SAT is administered. Practice should mimic the real thing. You will find it easier (and possibly cheaper) to buy this book rather than download and print these tests.Like its predecessor, this edition of the book does not contain answer keys and scoring curves. You will have to take a photo of your bubble sheet and use an app to calculate your score, or view the answer keys and scoring curves on the College Board web site to calculate your score by hand.Another reason to buy this book is to get access to some supplemental materials. In my opinion these are not particularly helpful and the more helpful parts are also posted on the College Board web site, including check lists for what to bring on test day, sample problems that are not included in the practice tests, etc.Overall the only compelling reason to buy this book is convenience.Complicated math explanations This book will not help you understand how to solve math problems in an efficient manner required when taking a timed test. The practice problems have long, creative ways of solving problems rather than straightforward ways to get to the result. I am sure this must be thrilling to a math geek. But to someone who Is just trying to get a good score, the author (s) seem like show-offs, displaying the most abstract ways to solve a math problem, while avoiding explanations in the problem solving processes. If you follow the process they use to solve math problems in this book, you will not finish the test in time, plain and simple.

Fantastic read! Desperately needs an edit, a lot of thoughts repeated or redundant. But if you hang in there and overlook that, there is a great story here! Very fast read, quick chapters, reminded me a little of James Patterson.Redundancy of Profiling Descriptions and Justifications are Over and Under whelming Wow, I felt as if every paragraph was cut and pasted to later sections in the very short time that I spent reading the very few chapters that I read. Deleted this book from my Kindle library.I couldn't get into it at first.. I almost didn't finish this First Reads pick for January, and that would have been a shame. But the phrasing was awkward, and I couldn't get into the characters. I persevered though, and I'm glad I did.Ziba MacKenzie is an ex-special forces operative turned profiler. She's also a recent widow in a world of pain. When the train she's traveling on is in a horrific accident she inadvertently catches the attention of a serial killer who has been dormant for years, but he's ready to start killing again.Results: admittedly the awkward and sometimes strange phrasing is difficult to get past, but if you can get through the first five chapters you'll find an interesting and exciting thriller.There was some strong language, and some adult themes, but nothing very graphic. It would be fine for older teens and adults.
